The Classic Rally Club was founded in Sydney in 1994. It currently has over 400 members.

The club runs a number of rally events throughout the year, and members are encouraged to compete in similar events run by other car clubs. Rallies are held under the auspices of CAMS or AASA.

Results in designated rallies count towards the Classic Rally Club annual Club Championships. For entrants to earn points in the annual club championship, the vehicle must be a classic vehicle.

The club also fosters the training and development of inexperienced navigators.
